Track season ended last Wednesday with a meet held at West L.A. College.   Our boys finished 2nd out of 8 teams and the girls finished 4th (3 points behind 1st) out of 9 teams.    Our team had 39 members this year.   Congratulations to all!!

FIRST PLACE:
6th Grade Girls 4X100 relay - Uzo Biosah, Dominique Dotson, Morgan William, and Natasha Simon

The squad won first place in the Junior High Division at the California Cheer and Dance Jamfest National Championship at the Sands Pavilion in Las Vegas, Nevada held April 10th and 11th this year.  The squad members are:  Samantha Beaton, Kristina Carmickle, Kaiya Crawford, Drew Deason, Shelby Forte, Verena Gorgi, Ben Matsunaga, Alexandra McKay, Isabella Pando, Preston Simpson, Pooja Singh, Margaret Stamberger and Kyla Wenzel.  The cheer squad earned a championship banner and trophy for the school and each member of the squad received a national champion medal, and a custom national champion backpack. 

The cheer squad also placed first in the National Individual Stunt Group Competition for which each participant received a trophy and a custom backpack.  The members of the stunt group are:  Drew Deason – Flyer, Samantha Beaton, Isabella Pando, Margaret Stamberger, and Kyla Wenzel with Verena Gorgi as spotter. 

The squad has had a great season this year placing an impressive third place for both the West Coast Championship, held at Azusa Pacific University sponsored by the Federation of Christian Cheerleaders, and the West Coast National Championship hosted by COA held at UC Irving. 

The team coaches are Marge Packman, Michelle Packman, and Ms. Packman (Social Studies teacher at WLS).
